Here’s what the tour will entail:
Departure from the lodge after breakfast at around 8:00 AM and head to a cattle post where you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities such as milking cows, pounding maize meal or sorghum, feeding chickens, and learning basket weaving. You can also taste tea or soft porridge made with fresh milk from the milking cow. Guests will have the chance to interact with the locals at the cattle post and even taste traditional beer. It’s important to note that participation in these activities is optional, and you can simply observe and learn if you prefer. Take a visit to the Lesoma Monument, (which was set up to remember the fifteen Botswana fighters who lost their lives while fighting for Botswana’s independence in the year 1978 during the Rhodesia war.) Lesoma Primary School and Clinic and have lunch in Kasane, where you can enjoy a traditional meal. After lunch, we will visit the Kasane old police station, where you can choose to visit the snake park or croc park. We will then head back to the lodge, where one can enjoy the sunset and watch elephants at the waterhole. One can also have a traditional evening with cultural meals to taste during the boma dinner. Guest will have the option to have lunch at camp or in town and can choose to have a traditional dinner or dinner of their choice. Our cultural tour can be included in the three-night package, and guests can choose between a day trip to Vic Falls or another additional activity to complement their cultural experience

The lodge is nestled within the protected wildlife management area along the Botswana-Zimbabwe border, Kasane Forest Lodge is conveniently located approximately 50 km from the tarred Kasane-Pandamatenga road. A short 10-minute drive from the main road brings you to the lodge, and you can reach the Botswana-Zimbabwe border in just 30 minutes.
This strategic position places the lodge between two remarkable parks, the Zambezi National Park on the Zimbabwean side and the Chobe National Park on the Botswanan side. Moreover, the lodge is merely 30 km away from the enchanting Kazuma Pan.
Guests are warmly received by Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge, whether arriving from the Zambia/Zimbabwe border post, Kasane town, or Kasane airport, and are then smoothly transported to the lodge. The journey from Kasane involves a nearly 40-minute drive on a well-maintained tarred road, ensuring accessibility throughout the year.
Given the lodge's unique location between two national parks, wildlife thrives in abundance, with the area serving as a home to the largest concentration of elephants in transit between them. Please note that walking to the lodge is strictly prohibited.
There are 18 standard ensuite rooms, all of which face the waterhole. Additionally, there are 2 family units, each comprising 2 standard rooms with an interleading door, also facing the waterhole. The lodge offers 2 stand-alone Meru chalets, and for those seeking a more private experience, there are 9 private campsites, each equipped with an elevated platform and private ablutions.
