Location and Accessibility

Guests are met by Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge either from Zambia/Zimbabwe border post, Kasane town, or Kasane airport and transferred to the lodge. From Kasane the road is on tarred road for almost 40 minutes and its accessible throughout the year .

Situated on the protected area(wildlife management Kasane Forest) Botswana-Zimbabwe border line, almost 50 km on tarred road Kasane Pandamatenga road, almost 10 minutes from the tarred road to the lodge and 30 minutes to the borderline of Botswana Zimbabwe Border.(between two parks Zambezi National Park on Zimbabwe side and Chobe National park on Botswana side and 30km from Kazuma Pan .

Since the lodge is situated between the two parks i.e the animals roam in abundance and it’s a home to the largest concentration of elephants including herds of buffaloes , leopards, African wild dogs, lions, impalas, zebras, antelopes, sables etc.

Seasons

(the climate is semi-arid) hot and dry throughout the year, rainfall tends to be erratic and unpredictable

The in-between periods: April/early May and September/October (tend to be dry, but the days are cooler than in summer and nights are warmer than in winter.

What to Take

A comfortable light clothing for summer and during winter please bring warm jackets, long sleeve shirts/pants, gloves, and beanies for the early and late activities–neutral colors recommended, sun hats, comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, sunglasses, insect repellent. Animal book, binoculars, fully charged camera (don’t forget the charger) Animal book could come in handy.

Electricity

All electricity at the lodge is supplied from the solar station which we do have in the lodge and is available 24 hours a day and we do have a backup generator that automatically switches on whenever there is a power failure and we use solar geysers.

Activities

Chobe Game drive

Early morning guided game drive into the Chobe National Park either for 3hrs, 6hrs, or a full day in open 4 x4 vehicles (picnic breakfast or lunch in the park can be arranged for 6hrs or a full day)

Chobe boat cruises

Either sunrise or sunset (3hrs or 6hrs drive guided into Chobe National) explore the mighty Chobe River and its wildlife on a comfortable open boat. (Brunch on a boat can be arranged)

Victoria Falls day trip and transfers

Depart in the morning after breakfast and come back late afternoon: enjoy a truly unique experience day in Vic Falls with the guide and have lots of excursions i.e visit the falls either walking inside the park or by helicopter, do a few activities by the bridge (if you love heights) budge jumping, gorge swing, etc., visit the croc farm, and see the arts and crafts from the local people at the Craft village.

The lodge offers 2 stand-alone Meru chalets, and for those seeking a more private experience, there are 9 private campsites, each equipped with an elevated platform and private ablutions.

Is there Wi-Fi available at the lodge?
